Support & Reconciliation Hub

A story can open a wound. The next step should help protect and heal the person.

This hub offers a careful starting point for adults affected by youth-sports experiences—and for parents, coaches, teachers, pastors, and mentors who are ready to listen, take responsibility, learn, or support repair. Reconciliation is never required. Safety and informed consent come first.

More voices, better understanding

Every role has a path into the conversation.

These perspectives may become separate interviews, educational conversations, or—after safety screening—an optional facilitated process. No one is invited into a surprise confrontation or asked to defend themselves on camera.

Athletes

Tell what happened, name what you need now, choose your privacy level, and decide whether any further contact feels safe.

Parents

Share what you saw, acknowledge what you missed, learn how to listen without defensiveness, and support an adult child’s boundaries.

Coaches

Describe the pressures and culture around the team, receive feedback responsibly, repair specific harm where possible, and model accountability.

Teachers

Help connect athletic experiences with school life, belonging, discipline, identity, and the support systems students needed.

Pastors & mentors

Offer grounded care without minimizing pain, forcing forgiveness, or replacing licensed and legally required support.

Consent-based process

A peaceful conversation begins separately.

Sports Confessions is developing a restorative pathway—not a courtroom, investigation, or therapy session. When a matter may be appropriate, each person is heard privately before anyone is asked to consider a shared conversation.

Private request

One adult submits a brief inquiry without naming minors or sending detailed evidence.

Safety and resource check

Urgent danger, active abuse, coercion, or required reporting is directed to appropriate services first.

Separate listening

Each willing adult speaks privately about impact, boundaries, responsibility, and desired outcomes.

Voluntary facilitated path

A qualified independent facilitator may be recommended when direct dialogue is safe and everyone freely agrees.

Repair and follow-up

Any apology, boundary, educational step, or action plan is specific, voluntary, documented, and revisited.

Clear boundaries

When reconciliation may—and may not—fit.

Forgiveness, reunion, or public participation is never a condition of being believed or supported. Accountability and reporting remain available whether or not reconciliation is pursued.

A facilitated conversation may be considered when:

  • Every participant is an adult and gives informed, unpressured consent.
  • There is no immediate danger, intimidation, retaliation, or active abuse.
  • The person harmed controls whether contact happens and may stop at any time.
  • The purpose is listening, accountability, boundaries, or repair—not image management.

Direct dialogue is paused or declined when:

  • Someone is in danger, a minor may be at risk, or abuse may need to be reported.
  • A person is being pressured to forgive, recant, stay silent, or protect an organization.
  • There is stalking, threats, coercive control, severe power imbalance, or active litigation requiring counsel.
  • A licensed clinician, attorney, law enforcement agency, school, league, or safeguarding body is the appropriate first resource.

This short inquiry is for adults age 18 and older. Keep it general. Do not include names of minors, medical records, passwords, detailed evidence, or information that would put someone at risk.

  • Submitting does not authorize recording or publication.
  • Submitting does not guarantee mediation or contact with another person.
  • Each person is contacted separately and may decline.
  • Qualified outside professionals may be recommended before any dialogue.
If anyone is in immediate danger, do not use this form. Contact 911 or the appropriate crisis, child-protection, law-enforcement, school, league, or safeguarding authority.
